A Plain-English Guide to Dubai Desert Safari Packages

At Dubai Safari Desert, we run trips all year round, from short sunrise trips to overnight stays. Here's how each package compares, so you can pick the right one in a few minutes.
How to Choose in Three Steps
Before you look at prices, think about three things:
• Do you have a morning, an evening or a full night free?
• Would you rather drive yourself or be driven?
• Is comfort important, or are you happy with the standard camp?
Once you know the answers, the right package is usually obvious.
The Evening Packages
The evening is the most popular time to go. You see the dunes in the golden light, watch the sunset and finish with dinner and shows under the stars. Every evening trip runs from roughly 2 PM to 9 PM.

The AED 100 Evening Trip
For a little more, you get a few extras, like sandboarding and henna, along with a BBQ dinner and pickup in an air-conditioned car.
VIP Dubai Safari, AED 120
Prefer a little more comfort? Our VIP Dubai safari includes VIP seating, a BBQ buffet and four live shows. The extra cost is small, and the evening feels calmer.

What's Included in Every Dubai Desert Safari
No matter which trip you choose, some things never change. Our camps follow a traditional Bedouin style, with low seating, soft lights and plenty of space. There are always veg and non-veg dishes at dinner. Pickup and drop-off are confirmed 24 hours before your trip, so you know exactly when to be ready.
We also run trips from Abu Dhabi for AED 140, plus city tours of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Hatta, if you want to explore more of the country.
An Evening in the Desert, Step by Step
Your driver picks you up in the early afternoon. Once the city is behind you, the road turns to sand. The driver lets some air out of the tyres, and then the dune bashing starts. The 4x4 climbs each dune, tips over the top and slides down the other side. It's bumpy, but it's a lot of fun.
Next, you stop on a high dune to watch the sunset. Then you drive to the camp for a camel ride, dinner and the shows. At around 9 PM, it's time for the drive back to your hotel.
Is Dune Bashing Safe?
Our drivers do this every day and know the dunes well. You wear a seatbelt the whole time. If you feel car sick easily, eat light and sit in the front. Pregnant guests, people with back problems and parents with babies should tell us when they book, and we'll suggest the best package.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why pick the Hummer?
Yes, if you want something that feels different from a regular 4x4. The Hummer is bigger and feels more powerful on the dunes, and the photos look great.
What's the best trip for a family?
The Evening Dubai Safari at AED 80 or the VIP trip at AED 120 work well for families. Children enjoy the camel ride and the shows.
Is hotel pickup part of the price?
Yes, all our guided trips include pickup and drop-off. Only the self drive option needs you to make your own way.
Is there a dress code?
Wear something light and loose, with comfortable shoes. In winter, a light jacket is a good idea for the evening.
Can I book for a big group?
Yes, just tell us how many people are coming and we'll plan the cars.
